'My driveway is BLOCKED': Entitled neighbor takes over resident's private garage, blocking their driveway, resident has car towed, sparking neighborhood feud

Neighbors will often surprise you in the most inconvenient and infuriating ways. Just when you think you understand them inside and out, they will decide to build fences on your property, throw loud parties during the work week, and, as was the case here, park exactly where they have been told not to do so.

Now, under most circumstances, we allow a grace period for innocent mistakes. Perhaps there was an emergency that would justifiably explain why your neighbor opted to park in your personal garage, thereby blocking your own car from your own driveway. That being said, you would think that in an emergency, this person would notify you in some way beforehand, even if it's last minute, before invading your property without your expressed approval.

  • One can imagine that all future encounters with this woman will be tense at best. How do you recover from that kind of disagreement? You cannot just live peacefully with someone after you've gotten their car towed? Just as the neighbor learned the hard way that actions have consequences, we suspect that this author is going to experience some unforeseen consequences of their own as well.
